IMPORTANT STATEMENT One of Moorlands dog rescue dogs, Bentley, has been residing at Little Hardwick Farm kennels as we had not got a suitable foster placement available for him. MDR were contacted yesterday by the kennels and were informed that the owner of these kennels is also the owner of City Dogs Home, Bucknall. The owner had been contacted by members of moorlands dog club community FB page saying that MDR had been making disparaging remarks about CDH. MDR were given an ultimatum to either remove all threads and publically apologise or remove Bentley from the kennels by Saturday morning. It has been pointed out that although MDR are admin for the club page they are not responsible for individuals opinions posted on the group. Also that MDR had made no statements about CDH nor had any of the official signatories of MDR made comments on any of the threads. MDR can not therefore apologise on club members behalf nor will they censor comments on the page as we believe in free and open discussion. MDR will not prevent any volunteer for the rescue from expressing a personal opinion on a closed group community page. We are greatly saddened that a dogs safety and security have been jeopardised by an assumption that all comments on the club page are made on behalf of MDR and very disappointed that the owner of CDH has chosen to extend issues pertaining to CDH to his other businesses thus affecting Bentleys well being. MDR had no issues with the care received at little hardwick farm kennels but have had not choice but to remove him today. Bentley remains available for foster and adoption.
