IN A TIME LIKE THIS: Good morning to all lovers of freedom the world over. The Yoruba National Party brings you the goodwill of over 50 million Oduduwa citizens trapped within the British created one Nigeria. We hope for your supports in our raw-determination to set our nation free from all the evil manifestation, the country called Nigeria has become, and we assert with absolute confidence that, no matter how long it takes, the Oduduwa Nation and its people would be political, economically, and socially-cum culturally be liberated from all the seasons of death, poverty and hate creation, which the British created confusion is synonymous with, which is now threatening the individual and collective survival of all the human elements endangered in the country called Nigeria, day-in day-out. There are dangerous trends within Yorubaland that must be exposing to all to know, and that is the daily killings of our people either via regular armed robbery attacks of poor residents or series of ritual killings and disappearances of people, young and old, male and female. The situation is attaining a fearful dimension that if care is not taken, it may lead to serious crises situation. The major five zones within political- geographical Lagos are now in serious security crises, as many communities within the above zones has resulted to self-help to securing their lives, that of their loves ones and communities. This scenario, are also seen all across the entire Yoruba landscape, including Kwara, Kogi and Yoruba parts of Delta. Doing critical assessment of the curses of the above ugly tends are massive movements of people from outside Yorubaland to major Yoruba states, with the aims and objective that could never be objectively analyzed constructively for positive peace-co-existence, but to endangered the lives of the original owners of the land, if some unscrupulous elements, would not intelligently term the above observation tribalism. One did not know, the true reflection of such derogatory classification, when the survival and protection of lives and properties of a people and geography is at stake. Those in public offices within the Yoruba geography should take this observation very seriously, and not play politics with the lives of all Yorubas in the affected areas. This is not to implies that some of our own Yoruba youths has not be co-opted into this game of deaths that the common folks go through every nights in Yoruba communities within Lagos and some parts of the larger Yoruba communities within the Yoruba Nation. We hereby call on the Lagos State government to consider strong security networks around areas like all suburb communities in Ikorodu, Ajegunle, Okoko-Casiddy, Ojo, Ketu-Ojota mile 12, Ajagbandi, Alaba Rago in Ojo Local Government, and many other areas, where mass of our people goes through serious ugly physical nightmares every above mid- nights, as result of unexpected visitation by unwanted and unknown visitors. The heterogeneous nature of the human population of the above areas, made the issues of secured security to be a delicate one. We therefore appeal to the state government, apart from creating jobs for youths in the above affected areas, to also empower each community of the above affected areas via practical supports to secure their respective environments, every night. Relying on the police presence and supports is never enough. The government must practically encourage the establishment of community base vigilante security network in each of the streets and areas where series of these violent crimes and attacks are predominant. What the people has resort to, for the purpose of saving their lives, are self –and collective micro monthly contributions to pay hire security guards to save them from violent crimes, when they are far asleep at night. This is the observation of the Yoruba Nationalist Party, and we appeal to all stake-holders in government circles in Lagos state and the local government officials of all the above mentioned areas to respond to this above observation, in the interests of us all.
