IN ALL THnK ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY FIRST THEN YOUR PARTY BEFORE YOURSELF .............................................................................................................. Comrades!! I greet all of you this morning and i hope we are all in good spirit after the weekend events at Kumasi and Wa. Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate all those who win the elections especially the major two winners, Hajia Zenab Mahama who won as the Women Organizer and Siidi Abubakar who also won as the youth organizer. To those who have lost I say better luck next time and those who disappointed their supporters by withdrawing at the last minutes I say please think very deep next time before you present yourself for future position in the party. My heart have been bleeding since Saturday night and listening to all the fall outs at the Kumasi event. It is very important to note that the NDC is not noted for some of those issues on vote buying, vote rigging and violence at such internal elections and we must ensure we discouraged such violence in the coming main elections in Kumasi in a fortnight time. We have just one country and one strong party. We can only lead the party if every single member is ready to be led. It is for this reason that we must do everything possible to leave the party united even after the election. Let me please admonish the supporters of various candidates that 6th December is just a date but the Youth Organizer position will remain with us and can only be held by one person out of the million youths at a particular time. What is more important is for the leader to collaborate with the youth wing of the party to ensure that the grassroots are very solid and bold to do the work for the party during the main elections. We want a strong and proud youths of the party and not despodency. We want a youth front that every youth will be proud of and feel very energetic to be counted in all youth activities without any hesitations. It is for these and many reasons that i will call on the winners that they have very tough task ahead. They must ensure that they closed all ranks in the next few wekks by bringing those who contested in the election into the working teams. Remember that if over 500 delegates voted and you won with less than 300 votes it means that majority of the delegated didnt vote for you so you have a biiiiig task to ensure that everyone loves to work with you after the elections are over. Moving forward, I will plead the endulgence of all the contenders of the main elections coming up on the 20th December to all ensure that there is decency at Kumasi before the election and after the elections. Very importantly, I will like to call on the supporters of all the aspirant for the chairman position and the organizer positions. It is worth noting that some of the comments and utterances coming from some contenders themselves and their supporters for that matter dont sound healthy at all and we will not want to see a repeat of what happened in Kumasi over the weekend. We need to remember that our behaviour in Kumasi on the 20th will go a very long way to determine our chances in the 2016 elections. We need to also remember as supporters of the various candidates that those candidates we supported are just single individuals and just a small part of the party and the nation as a whole for that matter. We have the power to make them lead us for the next four years and it will be very disgracefull if we allow ourselves to be used in any way to dismantle the very party we claimed we loved so much. If you have any iota of love for this nation and the great party then you need to behave like a reasonable being at the Kumasi sports stadium come December 20. To the current leadership who are in charge of organizing the event to be very mindful of the possibilities of this weekend events repeating itself at the main election. All necessary securities must be made available and the candidates must be spoken to very strongly no matter who is involved. We need a clean event on the 20th and also need to ensure that any little sign of trouble be nibed in the bud immediately. Remember we have one party which we aspire to serve and if we really want to serve the party and this nation then we will all behave ourselves very well to avoid any such dangerous developments in the Kumasi event. May God Bless Our Nation Ghana and May God Bless the Great NDC!! By George E. Ekegey
