IN GOOD HANDS Letter From Perth For many in Scotland, today - TopicsExpress

IN GOOD HANDS Letter From Perth For many in Scotland, today might have been tinged with melancholy, seeing Alex Salmond standing down as FM at his last FMQ in Holyrood. Whilst this emotion is understandable it should not be retained for long. Alex was in full-on, confident and optimistic mood. For Scotlands future. As well he might be. In a matter of two months the entire Better Together campaign has been crumbled to dust as Westminster binned the Vow, thinking a nation had been returned to its box. Marked Subjugation Complete. Perhaps we will hear what Alex is planning at Conference this weekend. Standing down as FM but still standing up for Scotland. Meanwhile here in Perth the pre-conference Civic Welcome was opened by the Provost. And then Nicola took centre stage. As usual, no script, no notes. The atmosphere is electric. She has no need to fill any previous leaders shoes, nor is she attempting to. She knows what Scotland needs to become a stronger and fairer Country. We are on the road to independence. The hall errupts. She speaks the truth. And everyone knows it. Business as usual? Possibly, but not for the winning side. Perth feels very YES. How about you?
