IN THE LAGONAVE UNITED MISSION WE BELIEVE IN TOMORROW.. Thankfully, the ice bucket version seems considerably helping people with ALS and it is certainly a worthy cause. And Facebook has become saturated with videos of people dumping buckets of ice on their heads in efforts to raise money for research on the neurodegenerative disorder ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. And the campaign is clearly working: The ALS Association told Fox Boston that it has raised $106 Million in a month. The ALS Association is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from people all over the world. And thank you for participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge and for making donations to support their fight against this disease. But today I’m proposing what is sure to be an unpopular alternative to the #icebucketchallenge. Because over there in Lagonave (Gros-Mangles) where our organization is serving, water and ice are luxuries, for not everybody can afford them. Though I personally support the ALS Association, but I will never dump over my head a bucket fill of ice and water. My challenge Is called the no ice bucket challenge, and it works like this: Do not fetch a bucket, fill it with ice, or dump it on your head. Do not film yourself or post anything on social media. Just donate the money, to this organization: Lagonave United Mission, feel free to politely encourage your friends and family to do the same. Congratulations! Not only have you contributed to a good cause, but you’ve done your part for the environment by conserving the energy and fresh water required to make and transport large bags of ice. Be warned, though, the #noicebucketchallenge is not for the faint of heart. It requires real fortitude to give away your hard-earned cash without the promise of receiving piles of Facebook likes in return. Please here is the bank account number : Bank of America, the number is: 394003785096. You can make a donation under Morijah S.D.A. ministries. I, Pastor Aggee A. Vetiaque, work for cause, not for applause. I live life to express, not to impress. I do not strive to make my presence noticed, but just make my absence felt. In the Lagonave United Mission, - We believe that we have the power to make tomorrow different from today... - We believe that poverty need not be permanent and that people need not learn war anymore... - We believe that there can yet be a time of peace and a time of justice, a time of tranquility for all who live on earth... - We believe that we can have a share in bringing that day closer by the way in which we live... We still believe if you cant feed one hundred people then you can just feed one. Can we do it? Yes we can! But will you dare do it? Pasteur Aggee A.
