IN THE NEW YORK TIMES: In its article about gamer-storytellers, the New York Times points out the influence tabletop roleplaying had on such luminaries as George R. R. Martin, Sharyn McCrumb, Stephen Colbert, Matt Groening, China Miéville and Cory Doctorow. Jennifer Grouling, an assistant professor of English at Ball State University, studied D&D players for her book, The Creation of Narrative in Tabletop Role-Playing Games. Grouling, who in her book gives particular attention to the narrative and linguistic structures of gaming sessions and the ways that players and gamemasters work together to construct narratives, is quoted extensively in the Times article. #DND mcfarlandbooks/2014/07/jennifer-grouling-creation-narrative-tabletop/
