INCIDENT TYPE: 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault 1st Degree Unlawful Restraint Felony Unlawful Trespass BRIEF NARRATIVE: On December 24, 2014, SBPD officers responded to a 911 call for a report of a domestic disturbance on Clover Street in South Burlington. One victim was transported from the scene by SBFD for injuries sustained as a result of a physical domestic. The suspect involved left the scene prior to our arrival and was identified as Nicholas Moffit, (33 years old of South Burlington). In addition to the assault, we determined Moffit damaged vehicles in the attached driveway and broke into an adjacent residence that was under construction. With the help of the Vermont State Police, Moffit was taken into custody on December 26, 2014 in Derby, VT. Moffit is currently on probation and was transported to Newport and lodged for a violation of probation. In addition, Moffit has been charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Unlawful Restraint, and Felony Unlawful Trespass. He will be arraigned on all charges on December 29, 2014.
