INCIDENT TYPE: Multiple counts of Retail Theft BRIEF NARRATIVE: On December 8, 2014, multiple SBPD officers responded to the University mall for a report of a female subject concealing items on her person. After concealing the items, the female left the store without paying for the items. She was stopped by loss prevention and identified as Brandy Ritchie (29 years of age from Rutland, VT) After Ritchie was taken into custody, loss prevention reviewed store video and determined two other females were involved with Ritchie’s activity. Officers were able to identify an involved vehicle and the vehicle was located and stopped on Williston Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified Constance Ritchie (53 years old of Middlebury, VT) and Nicole Farone (44 years old of Wallingford, VT) as also being involved in the theft. Officers obtained consent to search the vehicle and recovered over $200 worth of merchandise. In addition, officers recovered over $300 worth of additional merchandise that was hidden outside behind the mall. Brandy Ritchie and Constance Ritchie were lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Center and arraigned at Chittenden District Court on December 9, 2014. Nicole Farone was issued a citation for January, 2015. There is no available mugshot of Farone at this time.
