*INEC Registers PDM, Another Party Linked To Atiku* The Independent National Electoral Commission has registered the Peoples Democratic Movement and the Independent Democrats as political parties. INEC, in a statement on Friday, said it has also approved the constitution, manifesto, logo, flag and list of the national executive officers of the two new parties. A statement by the Secretary to the Commission, A. C. Ogakwu, said the registration was done based on the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended). A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has been linked with the PDM. But Abubakar on Thursday denied any link with the party. He said that the PDM as a political party was the brainchild of his political associates. Abubakar said he was not in a position to dictate to them who to associate with but that he remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
