INFECTION!!! Yes folks back to the hospital on Wednesday morning to cut open the wound again to remove fluids buildup, irrigate, install drains, remove possible blood clots, clean out any existing debris, and clean out any tissue infection. They removed the staples today which was no fun at all. Trudy had said that she thought it was infected on Saturday when I ran a 101 degree temp which broke that evening. I was still running a low grade temp when we arrived at the doctors office this morning for the staple removing. The lower part of the wound was pussy and nasty looking and the pain had spread to my calf muscle, not good. Dr. Hallock said this happens in about 10% of all cases like mine and because the wound was so large he wasnt surprised. Fortunately he already had me on a antibiotic regimen since last Thursday which is helping. Ill be at Centennial Hills Hospital for the operation which is scheduled for about 12:30 PM on Wednesday and an overnight stay for observation with additional antibiotics. Hopefully Ill be back to our Tenaya Way residence by Thursday evening. Trudy has been great to me during my recovery time in Las Vegas. This will be an additional 3 to 4 weeks before being able to drive the VW back to Laughlin. Thanks for all of your prayers during my trying time, they do help.
