INFORMAL SOLICITATION - BAIT SHOP OPERATOR PROPOSAL DUE DATE: Summary Description: The Canaveral Port Authority (Authority) is looking for parties interested in operating a temporary bait shop located at the new public boat ramp. The new boat ramp will replace the current boat ramp(s) located at Freddie Patrick Park, a boat launch that has accommodated over 100 boats per weekend day. The new, larger ramps will be located at 300 Christopher Columbus Drive, directly beside Jetty Park, and the temporary bait shop is scheduled to be installed on July 9, 2014. The “temporary” bait shop will operate while a permanent bait shop is constructed at the same location. The bait shop should contain standard fishing and boating supplies including live and/or frozen bait, ice, drinks, snacks and sundries. The location needs to operate 7 days a week, from approximately 5am-7pm (hours subject to mutual discussion). The Authority will supply the vendor with a 12’ X 56’ temporary facility, which will include an office, 30’ ADA ramp, ADA compliant restroom, and floor space for merchandise. The trailer will have electric, water, sewer, and ocean water provided. The occupant can add live wells and ice machines in the direct vicinity of the location. The length of operation is projected to be 4-6 months. During the construction of the permanent bait shop, the Authority will issue an RFP for parties interested in operating the permanent location. The temporary occupant will have all consideration to move into the permanent facility.
