INTEGRATIVE THINKING As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby -1 Peter 2:2 Still on the issue of our thought life, studies have shown there is a well known decision making process called Integrative thinking. It is one in which an individual balances tensions between opposing variables. You will agree with me that in order to succeed in our assignments, we need integrative thinking. We. are faced with so many tensions at home, in the workplace and the insecurity in the society only adds to the pressure. However, as children of God, the word of God and the Holy Spirit must be the foundation in our decision making process. The bible says in Psalm 119:105; Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Also in Hebrews 4:12 , the bible breaks it down further; For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Furthermore, the word also washes us clean of all errors and traditions of men ( …the washing of water by the word (Eph 5:26b)). The Holy Spirit gives us the breath of life (The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4). It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life. (John 6:63). Any decision making process without the word and the Holy Spirit is wrong thinking. A lot of times, our thinking is skewed by our world view; educational background and exposures, family background and social status. However, we need to submit our world view to the twin surgical blade of the Spirit and the word in order to achieve right thinking. The intelligence of education is flaky and only the wisdom of the word of God is absolute. Family background can only take you thus far; a covenant with the Father of fathers will take you further. Even the much touted social status is impotent without the leading of the Holy Spirit. So get into the word, immerse yourself in the wisdom and revelation of the eternal word. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide and lead you always. And then your decisions will be shatterproof. PRAYER CONFESSION In Jesus Name I declare I take my thought. captive to the obedience of Christ. I do not live by feelings and emotions; I do not live by hearsay and opinions of men. I live by the present truth that proceeds from the Holy Spirit today and always. AMEN..!
