INTERNSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT Post:Intern Duty Station:Nepalgunj and YI Working VDCsofBanke District Description of Assignment: Assist for reporting, documentation and daily office work Period: 3 months (August-Oct 2014) Report to:District Project Coordinator (DPC) Background Youth Initiative (YI), a pioneer youth run and youth led initiative advocates and works for youth empowerment in order to involve them as agents of positive transformation in the society. Initiated in the late 1999 and formally registered with DAO Kathmandu and SWC in April 2001, YI has evolved as model not for profit youth organization of its kind. Youth Initiative is implementing Youth Empowerment Program in Banke, Bardia, Dang, Surkhet, Kailali and Kanchanpur district under SajhedariBikaas Project.This Intern position is announced to support project activities in Banke district. Role and Responsibility • Support to Senior District Project Coordinator (SDPC) and District Project Coordinate (DPC) to compile report, documentand data. • Support to collect case stories, success stories and story of changes. • Support to conduct field level activities such as Local Youth Group (LYG) meeting, Community Development Activities (CDA), Community Management Unit (CMU) Meeting. • Support to conduct and write report of Youth Discussion Series (YDS). • Nepali to English translation. • Support to daily office work. Qualification, skills and experience required: The Intern shall have the following qualifications and skills: • Candidate should have age between 16-29 and have a +2 pass in the relevant field. • Interested to work in youth organization. • Good communication and negotiation skills, presentation skills and excellent documentation skills. • Basic knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Office Packages Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). • Good knowledge of local context, culture &language spoken of Banke. • Sound writing skill in English. • Women and candidate from Indigenous and marginalized community from Banke are highly encouraged to apply. Working Hours: • Full time- 6 days (Sunday-Friday) in a week.
