INTERNSHIP FOR FRENCH SPEAKING STUDENTS Job Descriptions About Africa-South East Asia Chambers of Commerce (ASEACC) Based in Singapore, the Africa-South East Asia Chamber of Commerce is the first chamber of commerce focused on building high-level business relationships between Africa and South East Asia regions. It comprises an exclusive by invitation only membership to decision-makers at the Presidents/ CEO/ Chairman-level of leading corporations from both regions. Associate Writer 2. Project Executive Duration 5 January 2015 to 6 June 2015, with the possibility of extending to a 12-month internship Reporting to Secretary General of ASEACC Assistant Manager of ASEACC Place of work #01-00A, PIL Building 140 Cecil Street Singapore 069540 Remuneration $450 per month Hours per Week Part-time, 2.5 days a week Tasks 1. Associate Writer 1) Develop a feature story on Africa-South East Asia Economic/ business cooperation to be published in the 2015 3rd Quarter edition of African Business Journal (see more at the end of the JD) as well as online; 2) Draft newsletters and email communiqués arising from reports on Africa related business events held in Singapore; 3) Develop and refine the Chamber’s press kit, and marketing collaterals; 4) Attend Africa related seminars and networking events organized by the Chamber and partner organizations including Singapore Business Federation and IE Singapore. 2. Project Executive 1) Assist the Secretary General and Assistant Manager in the brainstorming and execution of ASEACC development plans; 2) Organize and manage events and activities including hosting VIPs and visiting delegations; 3) Attend Africa related seminars and networking events organized by the Chamber and partner organizations including Singapore Business Federation and IE Singapore; 4) Under the guidance of Secretary General and Assistant Manager, conduct business research projects. Job Requirements Qualities of candidate 1. The candidate shall possess strong command of English. 2. The candidate shall possess the ability to work independently and be attentive to details. 3. Command of French, journalism-related experience, and event-organisation experience are bonus.
