INTIMATE THEATRE Goutam Sengupta Prologue ( Kathamukh ) Many a one say that no Bengali word can fully express the whole expanse of meaning that the word Theatre signifies. On the other hand there are some who do not ascribe to this view. They want to use the word Natya as the Bengali synonym of Theatre . Though not everyone is convinced , this word has been there as an accepted option. The term Natyashastra connotes the theories of theatre. Again Lokfnatya signifies Folk Theatre. So, it should not raise much protest if we accept Natya in place of Theatre. .......... ( This writing will be continued step by step. Feed-back is solicited from the readers.)
