INTRODUCING the NEWEST Grand Master in Africa GM Sammy Shoker of Egypt , egypt now has four GMs, Shoker met all his three Grand master Norms before August but the title was confirmed at the FIDE congress in Norway in August. ,in getting his second GM Norm , it is intructive to note that Samy showed great focus and will power when he needed to win his next game to get the Norm he needed to defeat the 2765-rated Mamedyarov on demand, with the Black pieces. And he managed it. Shoker got a structural advantage and rode it all the way home.That was one of the toughest GM norms one is ever going to see! what was interesting to me personally about shoker was his opening repertoire, he plays the same system as white and black and that was what took him from a patzer to GM level. 1.g3 ans white, then as black he plays pirc , mordern defence and sometimes KID almost always !! ratings.fide/card.phtml?event=627143
