INVITATION TO BE THE ASSOCIATE ORGANIZER OF THE BAPA-BEN CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES AND ACTS IMPLEMENTATION PROBLEMS ! Dear Sir, This is to inform you that Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) and Bangladesh Environment Network (BEN) are going to jointly organize the BAPA-BEN Conference on Environmental Policies and Acts Implementation Problems” or EPAIP that will be held on 10th January 2015 at the Krishibid Institution Bhavan, Krishi Khamar Road, Farmgate, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Eminent Scientist, academician, environmentalist and Vice Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific, Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury has kindly consented tp join the Opening Session as the Chief Guest. A Conference Organizing Committee (COC) headed by Prof. Nazrul Islam, former Chairman of UGC and Vice-President of BAPA and 12 other sub-committees are working on preparatory aspects. The Conference Secretariat is situated at the BAPA Office (9/12, Block-D, Lalmatia), Dhaka. As you know meanwhile, the Conference on EPAIP preparation is underway by BAPA and BEN with cooperation from eminent public and private universities of the country. This one Conference Programs include one Opening Session, one Plenary, 10 parallel sessions for 40 papers/presentations in two time slots, one Strategy Session and the Closing Session by 6 pm. As continuation of all the BAPA-BEN Conferences, the EPAIP will also include experts, teachers, researchers, academics, policy makers, political leaders, administrations, professionals, students, youths, NGOs, CSOs, victims of environmental degradations, diplomatic representatives etc as the presenters, resource persons, chairs, co-chairs, participants etc. As you know, BAPA & BEN by tradition prefers to gather all other patriotic, nature loving developmental organizations in such events all the time. This time also, the Conference Organizing Committee of the Conference on Environmental Policies and Acts Implementations Problems (EPAIP) has decided to invite some organizations to be the Associate Organizers for the said conference. Considering your agenda & consistency in activities, conference secretariat cordially invites your organization/institute/association to be one of the associate organizers for EPAIP 2015 under the following options and responsibilities: (01) Options for associate organizers: (a) will be recognized formally in important documents like the Conference Souvenir and post conference procedure, (b) one official representative of the organization will have waiver of Registration Fees, (c) the organization will be awarded a certificate of participation as associate organizer, (d) will get priority in getting the publications of the conference (both free and payable ones and subject to availability). (02) Responsibilities of associate organizers: (a) will have to pay entry fees: Tk. 7, 000 (seven thousand) for all national or large organizations and Tk. 3,000 (three thousand) for small & local organizations, in cash or crossed cheque in favor of “Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA)” by 7th January 2015 along with the filled up entry form; (b) will circulate the information of the conference among members & potential experts, (c) will send two representatives to the conference to participate regularly, of which one will have to pay the registration fees for the conference; (d) will encourage members, friends and colleagues to attend & visit the conference site, displays; (e) will help the conference organizers to select and bring few victims of river and water body degradation from all over the country, (g). will join the strategy session due to be held on second day of the conference and contribute in future planning. I hope your organization will join as an associate organizer of BAPA-BEN Conference on EPAIP 2015 and let the conference secretariat know your Expression of Interest (EOI) by 6 p.m. on 07th January, 2015.
