IRUTHODU- A MEETING PLACE OF HOT AND COLD TIMES - TopicsExpress

IRUTHODU- A MEETING PLACE OF HOT AND COLD TIMES Iruthodu-which means two rivulets is a serene and fond location in my native village, Kollayil. It is an entry point to the wild beauties of the western ghat forest in that area. Two streams, one with hot water traversing alongside the farm fields and the other with cold and pristine H2O rolling out from the virgin hinterlands of the queen ghat meet together here. It is a wonderful experience to walk over the pebbles floored water sensing the simultaneous and intermittent kisses of the hot and cold as gold fishes from kindergarten compete one another to micro clean our legs. I spent the sunlit part of my age eighteen almost entirely around this location. I was off studies at that time for some still mysterious reasons. I as a matter of routine used to went alone inside the forest through here every morning and stayed over there till late afternoon. I reared my goats and collected green for them. It was really a marvelous and essential time gap in my life, I now feel. Forest is a sensuous macro entity which can be grasped truly only if stay unison naked minded with her in her own seductive mindscape and wave length. Even the known five senses have more subtle and deep layers of existence in her surroundings. Do you know that smell is a more advanced kind of language there ?. Each and every wild-zen, either of animal or plant kingdom has a sophisticated version of inbuilt smell-phone attached to their body. Air is always jammed with heavy traffic of smells of different frequencies. There are in fact even some small clouds of particular smells also, often feel themselves as invisible beings , wandering through the valleys. The penetrating smell of approaching elephants will, no doubt, ring alarm tones aloud. There is a place called Poovanam upside the iruthodu which is soaked with the inebriating fragrance of wild honey. The tree tops over there are appropriately sound tracked with rythmatic humming of supersonic regiments of honey bees !. Amidst all these natural events, you will find yourself in deep meditation in neck deep medicated flow of water in a rock tub. A shy lady bird hidden inside reeds nearby will be singing lalla bee for you in charismatic tone. My son, Raasappan sitting enthusiastically at Iruthodu , however, may not feel these hidden joys. He is set for a different time frame. It actually requires a time gap for one to be attuned with her. I however, now feel fortunate to have had the then unfortunate time gap in my eighteen !.
