#ISIS #IS #Syria #Iraq #Kurds #YPG #Kobani Since yesterday at least 18 additional YPG/YPJ fighters got killed during the massive clashes around Kobani/Ayn al-Arab with ISIS/IS (for further informations see my other post before), bringing the numbers of killed Kurdish fighters in the recent days to more than 60. Exact numbers of the killed ISIS/IS fighters are hard to come by, but it seems at least 130+ got killed. ISIS/IS managed to take over four villages East of Kobani/Ayn al-Arab after they pushed back the Kurds with heavy artillery, 19 tanks and mortar shelling. Hundreds of Kurdish (and other) civilians fled the villages at several frontlines as ISIS/IS is relentlessly shelling these areas - without any concerns for civilian lives. Due to the recent events a new Arabic battalion has joined the Kurdish militia YPG to fight against ISIS/IS. The situation is dire, as the Turkish border area is still closed for medical and food aid, the citizens in the area of Kobani/Ayn al-Arab are surrounded by ISIS/IS and the Islamists have brought in even more reinforcement. The YPG has called all people who can fight in the Kobani/Ayn al-Arab district to join them and defend the area at all costs - as after a defeat the worst could happen to the area....
