ISO birth parents. Baby girl Nancy Ann born 8/27/63 at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Orphanage in Elizabeth, NJ. Adopted through Catholic Charities. Non-identifying info: Birth mother Lorraine, 16 at time of my birth. Birth father Thomas 17 at time of my birth. They attended the same high school, along with Lorraines younger sister Marilyn, who was a sophomore. She also had a sister Carol(e) who was 12 at the time of my birth. Lorraine and Thomas dated steadily for 15 months when she became pregnant and was sent to St. Annes Home in Elizabeth, NJ in April of 1963. Her parents were Harold, a Scottish Protestant in the insurance industry and Mary, a Polish Catholic. Lorraine is described as a quiet, frightened young girl, 56, blond hair, blue eyes, approx. 104 lbs with defined features and very pretty. Thomas was college bound and described as 510, stocky build (possibly played football), with wavy dark hair, blue eyes and very handsome. His father (name unknown) was Italian and died tragically in 1962. His mother (name unknown) was Cuban and has asthma. Lorraine also had 3 older siblings who were not living at home and Thomas had an older sister who was married and not living at home. The pregnancy was kept secret and people were told Lorraine went to stay with her Aunt in Florida to get over her breakup with Thomas. Thomas and his mother paid for Lorraines expenses while she was at St. Annes, but her parents forbade her to have contact with him until at least a year after my birth. While Lorraine was at St. Annes, she decided she wanted to go to beauty school, but her mother forbade it, insisting she return to high school after my birth. Lorraine and Thomas signed my birth papers on August 30, 1963 and named me Nancy Ann. They hoped to reconcile and marry afterwards, though the record goes cold there. Catholic Charities claims to have found them (they are both married with children and in NJ still) but are telling me neither is responding to certified letters (they are signed for) requesting at the very least, my medical history, which they can do anonymously through Catholic Charities. I have also sent Lorraine a personal letter with pics of me explaining I am very ill with Crohns Disease and desperately need my medical history. That letter was also signed for. Still no response. Praying a Search Angel can help me! Thanks for reading and if any of these names or the story sounds familiar, please contact me. Lorraine would be about 66 now and Thomas about 67. Would love to find my siblings or ANY birth family members. I am also in the process of doing a DNA test through 23 and Me, which will hopefully turn up something.
