IT IS ELDER ABUSE! Elders can too easily be deemed incapacitated and forced into guardianships which remove civil liberties. In abusive guardianships, assets and decisions are put into the hands of an unscrupulous professional, a stranger who isnt adequately monitored and who could care less about the ward. Theyre in it for the money. The abuses under this system can be horrendous for the most vulnerable members of society who often receive no due process. There are honorable guardians, of course, but any legal system that allows theft and isolation of elders from loved ones as a way to keep families at bay as the theft continues, needs to be changed IMMEDIATELY. Our elders are in danger, and we could be next.
