IT Service Desk Apprentice Currently seeking a service engineer apprentice with the drive and determination to help support the client base. This position reports to the Service Manager. BCS is looking for a team playing problem-solver, who is ready to embark on a career in IT. Responsibilities include identifying, documenting and troubleshooting user computing issues to resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction. Job duties include: • Utilising our remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) solutions along with other service-specific tools and technologies to deliver remote user support services and update service request information •Answer technical support calls •Assign ticket severity •Prioritise work accordingly • Work with other staff and vendor support resources to resolve issues. •Overall relationship management and the ability to coordinate required resources to respond to complex IT requirements are desired. •Troubleshooting user problems over the phone and with remote control technologies •Accurate documentation of all activities conducted Field based support and installation work (when technically ready) • Participating in the weekly on call rota for out-of-hours support (when technically ready) • The ability to manage, maintain, troubleshoot and support users networks, equipment, software and service •The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements Skills required: • Relevant work-experience (including school and college placements etc) •Some knowledge of supported software and technologies (principally Microsoft) •Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with users and vendors GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and ICT. Personal qualities: • Must be well spoken, outgoing, organised, detailed-orientated, dependable and flexible •Passion for teamwork, continuing education, problem solving and exceptional customer service •Professional and articulate •Interpersonally adept •Technically driven •A relationship builder •A problem solver The training to be provided will give you the opportunity to complete a Level 2 qualification in IT Services and Development.
