Ian Loveless & Andrew Storrier. RIP Ians anniversary has come around but I can only ever think of them as one - for most of my life they were together the one friend on whom I could rely in every circumstance. Their capacity to put friends before everything was most clearly exemplified on the morning after I had emergency surgery in Las Vegas. They called from London shortly after I came out of surgery and we spoke and it was wonderful the hear them both - then they immediately offered me a portion of their pension to pay for my surgery and cancer treatment in the USA. I have never shed such tears; their love for me meant so much - it gave me hope and courage and determination. Never a day goes by when I do not think of them - of our times together - good and bad - and I always pray with them when Im at Mass. They both loved Dame Janet so this is for them....it is the Angels Farewell from Elgars Gerontius. When my time I want this for the final curtain at the crematorium. Its particularly apt to mention this today as it is the feast of Bl. John Henry Newman. Until we meet again this is a token of my love for them.
