‘Icelandic Revolution Leader to Speak at Rage Against the Regime Event Tomorrow’ The charismatic leader of the 2009 Icelandic ‘Kitchenware Revolution’, Hördur Torfason, is the main guest speaker tomorrow night (Tue 17 Sept) at Rage Against the Regime (RAR), a monthly arts and politics event at the Grand Social, Dublin. Doors open at 7.00pm and admission is free. Tomorrow’s event is ‘An Open Forum on the September 18 Dail Protests’, which takes place on the day the Dail returns from summer. The RAR event will feature representatives of the main protest groups, including: ‘A People’s Assembly’; The Dail Lockout 2013; and My Injustice. The Dail Lockout 2013 is asking TDs not to enter the Dail on 18 Sept, to protest against austerity. It will take place from 5.30am and carry on all day, featuring a talk by Torfason and others, as well as music and poetry. Over 5.000 people are already attending, according to their Facebook page. A People’s Assembly, which will begin at 6.00pm on 18 Sept, is a wide coalition of political parties, independent TDs, trade unions, and NGOs, such as: People Before Profit, Sinn Fein; Natural Resources Alliance, Woodland League and Claiming Our Future. It will also feature music and poetry.
