Id heard many people talk about this movie and finally I watched it yesterday. The Normal Heart is one of those movies that doesnt have a happy ending. It very powerfully portrays how traumatic and catastrophic life was for many gay men in the early to mid 1980s. Thankfully our society has come a long way since then and those early activists who dedicated their lives to confronting horrendous bigotry and discrimination paved the way for some monumental changes in the way society responds to people who have HIV and/or AIDS.
