Id like some advice on these five thistles please. All were photographed on the Dunstable Downs. I have some ideas, but Im just not confident. The first has small lilac-coloured thistle flowers that flowered in June-July. The second has small purple-coloured thistle flowers, growing into a large straggly plant and it flowered in May-July. The third is a large prickly thistle, with purple-coloured flowers, which flowered in July. The fourth thistle has purple-coloured flowers; some have no stem, others have just a small stem; it flowered in July-August. Lastly, the fifth has distinctive purple-coloured flowers, with silvery-green foliage and it flowered in June-July.
