Id take 3rd/4th place and the FA Cup all day long... Lets face it - TopicsExpress

Id take 3rd/4th place and the FA Cup all day long... Lets face it guys, winning the league this season has ALWAYS been a long shot. We have always lacked the depth both City and Chelsea possess. Any one of their subs can walk into any club in Europe and fight for a starting spot. We, on the other hand, have a drunken Bendtner and a very raw Gnabry. The only reason why we looked like champions at the start of the season was cause of the surprise brilliance of Aaron Ramsey. After he got injured... well, it all went downhill real fast. Ive always thought that even if he stayed, we would still finish behind the two blues. Its really difficult to go toe to toe with those giants who have so many good players they can both make separate teams and still be formidable. We, on the other hand, can put out a really strong starting XI but we would only have a couple of reliable subs. We only have 3 CBs and, though it may seem like we have many strikers, they arent all that great. Ive always been an Olivier Giroud fan, and to be honest I still am. However, I dont think hes the kind of striker that could win us the league. Dont get me wrong, I think hes still a great player but the problem is his lack of scoring and thats what makes a striker great. Hes no Ian Wright, no King Henry, and dare I say no RVP. He can create chances for others, yes, however with the injuries of Theo and Ramsey, the only two players who can benefit from his style, hes basically a lone CF who cant finish. Yaya Sanogo is good however he is still very raw and I dont think he has what it takes to be a pure goalscorer yet but Im confident he will. And dont get me started with Bendtner... Our midfield has been brilliant this season (if you dont count the epic fails as of late). But with injuries to 3 of our 4 key midfielders, things went from bad to shit in an instant. Before the injuries, our midfield was unstoppable at its best. Wilshere was the kind of player who controlled the tempo of the game. Ozil was the killer passer we never truly appreciated. Ramsey... well, hes the destroyer. I guess we wont be winning the league this season but hey, we already have one hand on the FA Cup and considering the players we had and all the injuries this season... Id take that anytime. This is a young Arsenal side with loads of potential and a financially secure future. All we need now is to win the Cup and secure our ticket for next years Champions League. And if we add 2 or 3 more players in the summer (A good CB, a world class striker, and a good holding midfielder perhaps), Im sure we can slug it out with City and Chelsea next season. #BamX
