If I actually had funding to work on awesome ideas I have for - TopicsExpress

If I actually had funding to work on awesome ideas I have for photo shoots, you can guarantee your ass that I would be working on that shit. I refuse to settle for less than perfection in my efforts and pull-off. I really wish to pay for wardrobe, hair and make-up, but those things are far out of my hands right now. If youre passionate about hair and make-up and even wish to donate wardrobe use and wish to dive in with me, cool, but as for this new beginning of artistic push, there is no payout for anyone. Ive been one of the most minimally funded and minimal-in-style artists in the Reno arts scene for years, yet put out some of the highest quality images, period. Can you believe Ive never hired a hair stylist or makeup artist for a shoot, myself? Very few times for a shoot has a model had their own hair and make-up done for them. Wardrobe? Forget about it... Not even once. These girls and guys I hand-pick most of the time just have their own fashion sense. I cant even imagine what I could do with some outside help with professional presentation on a constant working basis. Its a reason you dont see a lot from my images in the modelling world right now. Mainly because Im trying to figure out things that wont cost me, but put out the most visual appeal at the same time. Gallery or publication worthy works that will help get me to the point of actually paying out to you hair, make-up and wardrobe artists. Basically, Im working with what I got, because unlike some people, money is just not there, as this is passion to me and not one that I plan to skimp on when I really shouldnt. I implore and hell, I even challenge any of you photographers out there to create artwork with close to nothing, except your knowledge of photography and Photoshop, relying on your ability to pick a model that fits the environment that you are in or mood you are trying to create. Imagine you are a virtually penniless artist with the minimum amount of equipment to make professionally presentable photography. How would you approach that in art form? You are the architect building from scratch, now build. That is only partially what its like to be in this artists body. Imagine the stress and anxiety that comes with being of the lower-than-minimum-wage-income artist type. Now you have a better idea of what its like to be me, but you still have no idea. Support your local artists. There are reasons for everything I do and Im thankful for every person that wishes to have me involved to work and actually help me in some way, however small. If Im only there to make you look good (this is not even limited to modelling. This goes for events as well) and there is no true benefit to working with you, check your privilege at the door, because you might be part of a larger problem, art and artist unappreciation. Be humble, pay it forward and refer-out at least, if you cant pay-out. Well-beings, besides yours are at stake here. Thank you. Thank you to these people and groups for helping me find a place and solace in this hard-knock town and life and outward. My late Great-Aunt Peggy, first off gets first dibs, for being both the most kind, genuine, supportive and positive figure to have existed in my life, but also a big credit to being giving enough to help me get a jump-start in this career field. I know that if she knew what I were to be pursuing this far into my life, she would be behind me 200% and every step of the way. Next goes to my direct family of course, for their growing support in this career. To Lex Royale, Scott DjScottie, Ryan Nitevision Svasek, Dalton Dvent Tutt and Andrew Edmonds for giving me a roof over my head during an extremely difficult part of my life and still going, but getting better. To Jeremy Chigukom Cupp personally for his eternal dedication to making music honestly and killing it and his never ending support. Hes like the music producer embodiment of myself. To The Asylum Society as a whole for actually giving a shit about the importance of this part of the arts and creating memories for these kids in the all-ages EDM scene and giving them love, family and a home away from home and not turning a blind eye to things that are actually more important than popularity: the safety of these kids attending their events. To PR Entertainment, Inc / PREpresents and Bass Camp Festival for also fully appreciating and desiring the artistry that goes into working their events on all levels and to Max Kronyak, Ross and Logan for helping me connect with them. To West Coast Ravers for their support and continued efforts for a better, brighter and healthier EDM scene. To Amplified Entertainment for their presence and continued support. To Johnno Lazetich-the Rhino for helping hook me up with Silent Frisco and just being the embodiment of bad-assness. Even if things arent great right now, to James Boggan, Jeremy Crimboli, Wade Gainer, Darren Archambault, Jessie Gonzales, Dustin Dzastr Zastre and the rest of the official 1up crew I may be forgetting, for convincing someone that great photos of events are necessary for a better club environment to work. Im still here to help promote, guys. Cant wait for the upcoming shows this year! Also, to the Tonic Lounge crew and DJs for their continued support. To Shannon Dobbs and Michelle Peltier at 5 Star Saloon for employing me at Rise Nightclub over 2 years ago and helping get me my official start to pursuing my career in events and clubs. To the Reno Riverwalk District and CrawlReno for supporting and desiring my event services and being so kind in the process. To Chad Michael personally for helping me get work with the Riverwalk District and to Ed Adkins and Heidi Adkins for being true gangsta bad-asses and providing you all with these amazing crawls for you to get your drink on. To Marcello Rostagni for having me now officially working with him. I hope this year holds many many good things and I learn as much as I can from you! To the brains behind Hatch Reno: Jeramie Lu and Ron Kots for providing a great little space for up-and-coming artists to put ideas to work. To Anicia Beckwith/ Studio Inspire for being my secret-now-not-so-secret artistic muse. :) Lastly, Ghouletta Atteluohg for also being my muse, as an all around artist. Sings, plays the ukulele and paints. Shes just a boss in general. Check out her Uglies artwork. Theyre like street, grunge and punk characters in a similar linework and coloring style to Alex Pardee/ Zero Friends,. Keep at is Steph! Moving to the mountain and California region. To Bass Tribe Tahoe, PHYBE, Mindful Massive, Kālī Entertainment, Rock The Boat and any others of the too-kind and accepting mountain crews with their humble, loving and spirited mentalities and their desire to have me on board providing them with awesome memories and to their impeccably awesome sense of free-form style! Special thanks to Fractaleyez for the awesome pair of custom shades. B) To Durty Djs, Paul Gammahh with Midnite Events/ Stilldream, Atom Oneichi with National Entity, Tim Manas with Lite Brite Productions and now Silent Frisco for holding it down in the bay and providing another outlet for me to work and extend my devotion and support for the growing EDM scene. Hoping I can expand those bay area thank-yous this year. Lots of potential for me out there this year and I wont be passing that up if I can help it! Heres to moving forward! Most of all, thank you to all the people in general who support what I do and can relate on any level to how much dedication and hard work this takes. Without all of you, as a whole, I dont think I could continue to do what I do and constantly get better and better while keeping as humble and personable as possible. I thrive off of you guys. So keep up the positivity and kindness, not just toward me, but toward one another and Ill keep providing you with eye candy and for some of you... eye-kandi
