If I hear or see one more statement about how the military is ....over paid... ....over compensated. .. ....dont earn the benefit they recieve... or such uninformed crap again, I think I will just go off the deep end. What other job REQUIRES you to leave your family (sometimes a year at a time), punishes you if you refuse to do so (or most anything else youre told to do), tells you how to dress, how to cut your hair, tells you the maximum body weight you can have, tests you twice a year for physical fitness, allows you to live with your family (it is the commanders call in the regs), holds you accountable for the off duty conduct of those you supervise, requires you to risk your life (or be punished if you refuse), risk thenlivesnof those you supervise, can punish and even fire you for what you do/say on your free time.............and we VOLUNTEER again and again for this job. 22 suicides a day because of the trauma experienced because of the job. Second rate medical care from VA...... I could go on and on. The people that do this job keep our Country free. Protect us from the evils in the world. Bury thier friends/brothers/sisters, only to turn around and do the exact same job. Now, tell me again how the military is overpaid/over compensated/have it easy etc. Those who can......DO!!!! Those who wont.....plain about those who DO. Shut your mouth, tow the line, do your part...... OR SHUT THE HELL UP
