If Kenyans cannot use this scenario to understand that we have ONLY two tribes in Kenya, then they are idiots. So, we have a senator who dies and the whole nation almost comes to a standstill with messages of condolences (genuine or fake) for the fallen senator. The Government/ MPs/ Senate raises millions of shillings plus a fund raiser for the senator and, I can bet my eyes, the entire Government machinery will be at Homa Bay for the burial. This is beside the millions in insurance whatever. In another sad scenario, 28 ‘lowly’ Kenyans are butchered and the Government appears reluctant even to fund the funerals. Of course no single cent from the government. Further, the same incompetent Government tells those in Mandera that they won’t be evacuated but rather they’ll be provided with ‘security’; of course this is hot air and expect those terrorists to strike again in Mandera. So, in Kenya the mighty becomes ‘saints’ once they die(Kajwang was a thoroughly corrupt lawyer but I am reserving that post until the burial is over) but when ordinary Kenyans die in course of their duties, the Government is very reluctant to help. So when I see ordinary Kenyans being sycophants of politicians(jubilee, cord, whatever,) I just feel like shooting them dead. If ordinary Kenyans knew just how these filthy crooks that reign over us treat us with contempt, they’d never even attend a political rally. Forever. In Kenya, the life of a senior politician is worth 100 lives of ‘ordinary’ Kenyans. Stop being anyone’s sycophant. Just imagine this: If in that ill-fated bus there was an MP or senator- Kenya would now be at a standstill. Heads would have rolled. Uhuru would have cancelled his trip to whichever country he was visiting. I don’t want to sound like a sadist but unless Kenya’s big men are seriously hit with insecurity and their bloodshed, the Kenyan Government will never seriously address matters of insecurity.
