If You are Planning to Sell Water, Soft Drinks or Anything Along the Parade Route... Please Read & Share City Licenses Required For Cheyenne Frontier Days Vendors CHEYENNE – Youths who wish to sell limited food items (commercial pre-packaged items only) and canned/bottled beverages along the designated parade route for this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days parades must each apply for a Temporary Parade Vendor Permit through the City Clerk’s office. Permittees will be issued a colored identification badge, which serves as their official permit, enabling parade officials and City-County Environmental Health personnel to quickly recognize youths whose items offered for sale have been approved. Permit badges are effective only during the Frontier Days parades. Local businessman and long time community youth supporter Maurice Brown is offering his financial support to youths by paying for the cost of the $2.00 permit. “I hope my assistance will encourage youths to engage in a business and customer service activity,” stated Mr. Brown, commenting that perhaps the experience will result in some individuals deciding to open their own business someday. Applications must indicate the items proposed to be sold, which are approved by the City-County Environmental Health staff, and a parent or legal guardian is required to sign the application form in addition to the youth. Only commercial pre-packaged items, such as potato chips, soda pop, bottled water, etc. are allowed. Sales must be from containers that are individually carried or provided on-site from small wheeled wagons or containers (not larger than 2 feet wide and 4 feet long). Other vendors who plan to sell items from food stands or retail merchandise from tables or booths at various locations in the city during Frontier Days also need to apply for licenses. The fee for a food stand/wagon is $75.00 per location and requires prior approval from the City-County Environmental Health office. The fee for a temporary merchant (retail items) is $90.00 per location effective for 14 days. Applicants should file their paperwork with the City Clerk’s office no later than Monday, July 15th to provide time for application review and processing. Persons wishing to provide services (including non-sales vendors) from fixed locations within the downtown public right-of-way and/or city-owned property should contact the Special Projects office, Municipal Building, 2101 O’Neil Ave./Lobby (Phone: 637-6200), to make arrangements for renting an available area. For more information on required permits and licenses, persons may contact the City Clerk’s office, Municipal Building, 2101 O’Neil Ave., Room 101 (Phone: 638-4301). Certain business application forms are available on the city’s website at cheyennecity.org.cheyennecity.org.
