If any of you remember, my uncle Jr and aunt Christy are on the island of Tatuan in the Philippines and were one of the first islands hiy by the hurricane last year. They still have a house, which needed a new roof and uncle Jr decided to reinforce the walls after the major storm. They still do not have electricity, but given the pre hurricane set up, this isnt too much of a surprise! So, as we here in the midwest are freezing they are living in the hot and humid tropic weather without so much as a fan or a refrigerator. Mom has been messaging aunt Christy this evening and found out that the kids (her nieces and nephews who have been living with them) were attending school, not sure how but yay! So, as we gripe and groan about the cold and grab a bottle of water or pull out some frozen meat to thaw, or even turn on a light- they still cant. I dont know how much of the island is still without power, but YET another thing that we can be thankful for!!
