Samuel has an awesome runner Jen Zawtocki Salmi!!! In early 2013, Tim Boyle found himself needing a better reason than weight-loss to get off the couch and start running. So he started posting his workouts on Facebook. After sharing a picture that read,“I run because I can. And when I get tired, I think of those who can’t run...And I run harder for them.”That day, Michael, a man with Down syndrome said, “You can run for me any time!” AND SO, I RUN 4 (IR4) MICHAEL WAS BORN. Since its inception in January 2013, IR4 has grown from a grass roots club of 20 or so runners and buddies with special needs to over 26,000 members, 8,000 matches, and over 3,200 runners, walkers, cyclists, yogis, cross-fitters, and athletes of all levels and kinds, from all over the globe, waiting to be paired with a buddy with special needs. IR4 is a non-profit organization existing first and foremost to enhance the lives and bolster the support systems of families with special-needs members by pairing them with runners and athletes who will dedicate their workouts, miles, and races to their incredible buddies.
