If attending Trainfest got you thinking about starting in the hobby, and you live in southeastern Wisconsin, take note... The WISE Divisions January meet (Beginners Meet) is Sunday, January 18, at the Midway Hotel & Suites in Brookfield, 1005 S Moorland Rd, Brookfield, Wis. The meet is FREE and open to the public. There will be three 45-minute sessions of clinics as well as the usual popular vote model contest and home layouts on tour from 4-6 p.m. Clinics subject to change without notice. The clinics at this meet are geared to help those just starting in the hobby. 1:00 p.m. Tools for Modelers Dave Evans shows us tools ranging from basic ones needed by beginners, and every modeler, to tools needed by more advanced modelers and how to organize them. 2:00 p.m. DCC for Dummies John Shipman covers the basics of Digital Command Control (DCC) and presents an overview of the systems available. 3:00 p.m. Trackside Details Using prototype photos old and new, Dave Nelson encourages us to more accurately model track, trackside details and structures. Bring your models or photos to enter (entries accepted until 1:30 p.m.) in the following categories: All categories. Layout on tour will be a HO scale freelanced layout that shows construction techniques and is of a unique mushroom design. Hope to see you there.
