If elected I would Keep open a Facebook Page for the purposes of opening a Line of Discussion on Council meeting topics. While I applaud the Federal Government for their attempt for open government it is a fairly easy thing to achieve. We do not need studies to tell us how to do things. I value the input of others in the decision making and problem solving method. It is a valuable part of government as those elected are elected to serve the people. The problem affecting us not only in Juneau, but in Washington DC is the fact that we have lost the Human aspect of things. We need to be mindful that we are dealing with living breathing people who have thoughts, and feelings. These people have issues that affect their daily lives and they are the driving force that completes the circle of life if you will. These are people not names, numbers and statistics on a piece of paper. While it is essential for the Government to act and make decisions we must take great regard that these decisions have very real and sometimes very damaging consequences. Half of the decisions made by elected officials are made with out the realization of that fact. We can blame those elected or we can reach out and work hand and hand with those we represent. Now that is in fact a two way street. We must be willing on both sides to work together. I am far from perfect and I do not have all of the answers and I am man enough to admit that, but I am willing to work hard for those I represent. Now I would also like to impress that we may not always see eye to eye and that some decisions may not be popular, but not everyone is going to agree on everything. That makes us unique and allows us to have discussions to shape the future. The time to act is now, we need to stop all the excess activities that are called politics and act with a clear and concise purpose. A well defined objective and cutting out the excess makes for more productive government. I want to thank all of you for your support and if you decide that I am unworthy of your support I want to thank you for taking the time to hear and consider what I have to say. Like I said we are all not going to agree and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to speak on where I stand.
