If he is right then the balance between fast and thoughtful is not - TopicsExpress

If he is right then the balance between fast and thoughtful is not right. Although, one could add, that we claim it is not right because it is so obvious this year. Is that fair? Nico says it wasnt quite right since 2006. However most fans didnt notice that or didnt care. I will agree with Bernie though. Lowering the fuel consumption of the cars is so much show and so little essence. I mean, the contribution of the F1 cars to worlds pollution is absolutely minimal, non existent actually. They consume loads of fuel but the actual distance they go every year is minimal. The fuel consumed to carry the F1 circus around the world, buses, airplanes etc, is enormously higher than the fuel consumed on track. Yet again, probably lower than the fuel you and I consume every year to go to work. So why reduce the fuel the cars carry to 100 kilos? Maybe reduce the number of busses every team can have, or even better reduce the air travel by keeping in the schedule more traditional european races instead of getting a little high tech village to fly around the world to new (boring) tracks in the middle of nowhere every other weekend. But even critical Bernie wouldnt approve of that, would he?
