If he watches cartoons with you, And calls you by a superhero name or two, never let him go. If he buys you an ice-cream but eats most of it on his own, Gets you flowers and hurts his fingers with its thorn, never let him go. If he comes all the way to the airport but wishes you miss your flight, If he gets anxious like a baby when you are out of his sight, never let him go. If he cooks for you, his favorite dish For every moment, the right music he does not miss never let him go. If he crosses his fingers each time he asks you out, and kisses you on the cheek each time you pout never let him go. Even after saying hes leaving, he stays he messes up your hairstyles, as he plays never let him go. He gets you a book that challenges your beliefs,, He laughs at your laughter, and weeps at your grief never let him go. If he understands the pain of losing a dog Takes a walk on a cold night, penetrating the fog never let him go. If people think youre siblings for the way you fight and you talk about God and things you believe in, some nights never let him go. If youre thinking of someone as you read this poetry, chances are hes already gone. or he never arrived at the first place. Look around, Look how the birds sound in the daylight and how the moon shines at night. He would be looking at the same too, maybe in a different timezone maybe in a different country thinking in a different language of you, without knowing you; like you are, without knowing him.
