If it wasnt broken Friday during the goat melee, it most certainly - TopicsExpress

If it wasnt broken Friday during the goat melee, it most certainly is now after CowPi stepped on it w/all his weight. For those of you who follow my travails anxiously awaiting each update with extreme anticipation, you will recall that Friday the rutting buck, EskimoPi, charged Maggie and I, nailing her full on in the side. She stayed upright by bouncing off me. Bouncing off me knocked me down and apparently one or both goats trompled my left foot. And yesterday I had decided to take the left foot to the docs, mostly to learn how to deal w/these kinds of things when docs are not so readily available --- a Med Practices 101 if you will. Today I was preparing to milk the goats. After leashing Eskimo to a pole so he could not knock down the gate and rummage thru the feed, I went to get the grain and alfalfa pellets for the milk stand. CowPi galloped over to check out the menu and stood on my food. All 700 or so pounds of him, on my left foot. For about 30 minutes. Ok so it was really only 3 and 3/4 hours. Ok, maybe 5 seconds or so. But the pain coursed up my leg, over and over and over cause he kept standing on it. My screams brought Ryan running across the roof and John running across the yard. CowPi was oblivious to his rapidly approaching new home in the freezer if he does that again. But Im guessing that I now have twice the number of bones in my foot as I had this morning as I figure every one of them is borken. I called the insurance company to see if I had to check in w/my primary doc or go straight to xrays. They seemed to think I should go straight to the emergency room. In fact, the nice nurse actually commented that I didnt seem all that upset for having had my foot stood on by a huge beast. I probably made HIS night w/the story. They apparently have this list of questions they ask to determine if you should chill or go to the ER. I was told I should go there immediately. I told them they needed to ask one more question: How far is it to the ER and thru what terrain and weather? The bruise appears to be a nice hoof print shape. Ill be showing off my cast tomorrow. Pain killers are finally effective. Nite all. https://youtube/watch?v=X72fXW5Cs3U
