If money is all that matters. to elect good government...we are cooked as a community. If wisdom, personal character, real ideas, brave passion for fairness and tenacity to get things done is what matters and the people know it ...then it doesnt matter if Huizar gets all the money in the world from downtown law firms, developers, and yes, even some organized labor. He will lose. I like to think the people of Council District 14 understand that having a huge war chest should not buy votes. Molina, with little money, will eventually get the voters support because she has huge name recognition earned by fighting, often singlehandedly, against a State Prison going into East LA, dogging a developer to build Grand Park, building a gorgeous little playground there and always to be counted on to fight for our libraries, parks and neighborhoods. Our district is more than a so far botched Bringing Back Broadway (how about just bringing back Angels Flight?) and promises of an ever more expensive trolley to almost nowhere. We know what contributes to the quality of our lives and that it will take a lot of vision to grow and improve it. Adios big money. We are smarter than that.
