If people had ANY IDEA how hard it is to run a successful horse - TopicsExpress

If people had ANY IDEA how hard it is to run a successful horse training business and actually make a living, they would be absolutely amazed. The next time you think your trainer charges too much, remember his/her 6-day work week, the 12-15 (and sometimes 24) days, the fact that he/she stays up with your sick horse until its okay, the midnight barn checks just to make sure no one has colic, the HOURS AND HOURS AND DAYS spent on the road getting your horses to the shows where you get to have fun and show off your accomplishments, the MASSIVE expenses involved (horse trailer, truck, show clothes for every discipline, gas, grain, hay, shavings, arena footing, utilities, computers, advertisements, employees, supplies, the barn mortgage, etc., etc., etc.), and try to remember the last time he/she actually took a vacation. Think about how many texts, phone calls, emails, and other various forms of communication that he/she is bombarded with ALL DAY LONG, and yet he/she is always happy to hear from you and tell you about your horse. I could go on for a long time... Very few people get rich from being horse trainers. And those that do deserve it 100% in my opinion, because it means that they worked their BUTTS off and are amazing at what they do. Can I get an amen from the trainers out there? Please know that you ARE appreciated.
