If recent events have found you asking yourself, I cannot imagine what could make anyone feel so hopeless that they would take their own life, then consider yourself blessed. Depression is real and horrible. It is not something that you can just get over. When you suffer from depression, everything sucks. It is a pain far worse than anything physical you could suffer from, and the worst part is that the end never seems to be in sight. At least with a physical ailment you can get a timeline as to when you will heal, but depression doesnt work that way. By the grace of God and years of counseling and therapy, I have been able to manage my depression, but occasionally I struggle. Depression makes a person very selfish because their mind convinces them that their life has no meaning. This is a very scary place to be. Pray for those who struggle with depression. Pray for those who are contemplating suicide. You dont have to make martyrs of those who have taken their lives, but have some compassion for them and their loved ones. *stepping off my soap box*
