If some one had told me that there were over 1,600 members of 38 Degrees in Bradford, I might have thought that there would have been more since it has campaigned so effectively about things that are so blatantly wrong, unfair and sometimes disgraceful in Britain to day. But when I read the message again I saw that it quoted the figure of over 1600 members in BD 20 alone! This morning I met a friend who had never heard of it, but told me shell have a look tonight when she gets home, since it seemed to her very good at informing the general public about such dreadful things like all the secrect Transatlantic Trade Investment Partnership negotiations, opposing the creeping privatisation of the most profitable parts of the NHs, opposing M.P.s expenses being hidden from the public and the wasteful charade which passes for franchising out the increasingly broken up railway system. So while wishing all my friends all the best for the New Year and hoping that it goes well for both of them, can I also suggest you just have a look at the 38 Degrees web site and particularly the campaign against TTIP. One thing I learned from it last week are that there are around 1.3 million of us right across Europe who are opposed to it.l Maybe us lot can all be said to be in this together!
