A bitterly cold night is expected and temperatures will fall to around 30 below in the colder spots, with wind chills to 50 below zero. Southerly winds will increase on Thursday, and some drifting snow is likely in the northern valley by late afternoon into Thursday night, with patchy blowing snow possible. Warmer air will filter into the area on Friday and the mercury should approach freezing, along with some light snow by Friday evening. Another arctic front will sweep from north to south Friday evening and overnight, and bring another period of blowing snow and reduced visibilities to the Valley. Thereafter, yet another light snow event is possible Saturday night with a strong cold front bringing more blowing snow to the area Sunday causing potentially hazardous travel. Bitterly cold air then spills into the area with frigid conditions and dangerous wind chills next week. Stay tuned to the latest weather forecasts to monitor potentially hazardous winter weather Friday into next week.
