If the cop in question in regards to the unfortunate shooting of this very troubled young man is guilty of anything , it is that he most likely did not receive proper training at the police college, or if he did not follow the appropriate protocol in this totally bungled situation ! But I do honestly believe the management at the top of the chain that determines the qualifications for ensuring police officers are qualified to deal with all situations including , dealing with people that have totally lost control of their senses due to an overload of bad chemistry going on in their brain are more responsible for their officers reaction to very delicate & dangerous situations as this !! The police departments should have medically trained personnel to accompany the officers to avoid having to resort to rash judgement calls that cost this young lad his life !! Why does the ministry of health & the ministry of public safety not fund the college to ensure that as standard training procedures the officers are taught how to negotiate a peaceful surrender , rather than shoot to kill mentality !!! I know the that the upper levels of government are crying poor, & that they do not have the funds, But have they ever reconsidered re-allocating money from building more elaborate prisons ???
