If there be any lesson this electioneering in Nigeria has taught - TopicsExpress

If there be any lesson this electioneering in Nigeria has taught me, it is TOLERANCE to accommodate divergent views; from the very ignorant to the nostalgic, delusional and more. Many times, some of these views, calculations and permutations are annoying and infuriating and of course, disappointing especially when its from respected and revered personalities. It has also further revealed the psychology of the Nigerian living in the Nigerian society. (It just reminds me of the many things my Dad told me as a kid) The good thing is we all claim to be Patriots, even the obviously and obliviously selfish ones. But I believe patriotism built on ignorance is nothing but a farce. (“You cant get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.” ― Ernest Hemingway) Well, who am I to condemn another persons opinion? After all, we all choose what to believe and otherwise. My advice to all is; dont throw away the respect you have for individuals because of their political views and affiliations. And dont lose your honour and dignity because of your political conviction/confusion. There is life after elections, its just a season! It is well.
