If there is a landmark TED Talk on psychiatric medication -- THIS IS IT! Caltech neuroscientist David Anderson succinctly explains that our current description of mental illness as chemical imbalances is ridiculously simplistic given the fact that there are literally billions of neuro-transmitters in the brain. Anderson likens current psychiatric medication to pouring oil all over our mental engines, some of it gets in the right place, but much does not --- causing more harm than good. Anderson and neuroscientists like him raise many legal questions they may or may not have anticipated.
