If these recent images of Warinanco Park remind you of that other famous park, New York Citys Central Park, its not just your imagination. These lovely treescapes were laid out in the early 20th century using landscape design principles inherited from the renowned 19th century architect Frederick Olmsted, who designed Central Park. Now were well into the 21st century and the Olmsted touch is still evident throughout the Union County park system in peaceful, meandering pathways through shaded areas, broad open vistas, generous use of waterways, and ample room for organized sports as well as passive recreation.
