Ubah assists Nigerian detainees in China to regain freedom UPON intervention of Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming Anambra State’s election, 10 Nigerians who were being detained in China arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos yesterday after being released by the Chinese government. Speaking on arrival wing of the airport yesterday, Coordinator of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation in China, Ugochukwu Onedibe who was flanked by the foundation’s media consultant, Ayo Akinola said 30 more Nigerians are still being expected as Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah negotiated for the release of 40 people whom the Chinese government agreed to release in batches. Onedibe said Ubah was responsible for their ticket fare to Nigeria and would also play his part at rehabilitating and empowering them lest they become frustrated. In a related development, LP has urged Anambra people to use the opportunity of the November 16, 2013 governorship election to vote its candidate, Ubah, to give him the opportunity to arrest the prevailing infrastructure decay in the state due to lack of maintenance. State Chairman of the party, Chief Sam Oraegbunam told journalists in Awka yesterday while reacting to the reported collapse of the colonial drainage channel, at the end of Old Market Road/beginning of Bright Street Onitsha yesterday. Oraegbunam noted that Ubah has painstakingly enumerated and identified his main areas of immediate attention when elected and that included the maintenance and development of public infrastructure. Oraegbunam said that under LP government, no aspect of the state’s existing or new infrastructure would be allowed to decay, including buildings, roads, drainages and bridges.
