If we CONFESS OUR SINS to HIM, HE is faithful and just to forgive - TopicsExpress

If we CONFESS OUR SINS to HIM, HE is faithful and just to forgive US our sins and cleanse US front all wickedness... (1 john 1:9) can I share a piece with u on this scripture as I study the word this dawn? Brethren in Christ, CONFESSION is supposed to free US to enjoy FELLOWSHIP with CHRIST. And with fellowship here, there are 3 principles in regard; Firstly, our fellowship is grounded in the TESTIMONY OF GODS WORD. Without this underlying strength, togetherness is impossible. Secondly, it is mutual, depending on the UNITY OF BELIEVERS. Thirdly, it is renewed daily through THE HOLY SPIRIT( thus, my BIG BOSS). And lets be mindful that true fellowship combines SOCIAL & SPIRITUAL INTERACTION, and this is made possible only through a LIVING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. That said, CONFESSION should ease our consciences and lighten our cares. Its rather unfortunate that some Christians do not fathom how it works. They feel so guilty that they confess the same sins over and over again, then they wonder if they might have forgotten something. Other Christians believe that God forgives them when they confess, but if they died with unconfessed sins, they would be lost forever. These Christians do not comprehend that God wants to forgive US. Look, for your information, He(God) allowed His beloved one and only son, Jesus Christ, to die just so He could offer US pardon. Therefore when we come to Christ, He forgives all the sins we have committed and will ever commit. Read my lips, when we accept Christ as our Lord and Personal Saviour, all our sins-past, present & future are all forgiven. Consequently, we dont need to confess the sins of the past over again, and we dont need to fear that God will reject US if we dont keep our slate perfectly clean. Of course we should continue to confess our sins, but not because failure to do so will make US lose our salvation. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST IS SECURE! Instead, we should confess so that we can enjoy MAXIMUM FELLOWSHIP AND ENJOY HIM. In conclusion, I must say that TRUE CONFESSION also involves COMMITMENT NOT TO CONTINUE IN SIN. Of course we wouldnt be genuinely confessing our sins to God if we planned & intend to commit them WILLFULLY OR WILLINGLY OR INTENTIONALLY OR HABITUALLY over again and just wanted temporary forgiveness. Let US also pray for strength to defeat temptation next time we face it... ME, BRAINBOX, LOVE YA ALL TO THE BONE!
