OMNI HD STORMTRAC UPDATE: Here’s the latest projected timeline of the cold front moving into our area tonight through Tuesday. The main threats with this front will be damaging winds, heavy rain (2+), and flash flooding. As far as a breakdown of the timing, here’s my latest thinking starting with tonight: 7PM EDT: Isolated showers popping up and the winds starting to get stronger in from the west. MIDNIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms start to affect a larger portion of the area. 6AM EDT- Heavy rain with thunderstorms spread out across the region. 9AM EDT- A very wet and stormy drive into work. Use caution. 12PM-4PM EDT- The strongest line moves through. Here’s when we’ll have the potential for strong wind gusts (60mph+), flash flooding, hail, and isolated tornadoes. I do want to point out that the risk for hail/tornadoes is very low at this point, but it is something we are keeping an eye on. 5PM EDT- Showers and thunderstorms moving out, but could still affect a good portion of the area during the 5 o’clock rush. Again, the main threats with this front will be damaging winds, heavy rain, and flash flooding although hail and isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. As with any weather event, this timeline is subject to change so check back often. Be safe out there, :) Miller miller@wltz
